This intricate carving on mother of pearl is approximately the size of a dinner plate. Displayed in Salarjung Museum in Hyderabad, India. The museum houses perhaps the largest one man’s collection of priceless art and artifacts in a large building. The Nizam (ruler) of Hyderabad was, at that time, the richest man in the world.
I took this picture in an Indian ‘general store’ that sells from books to videos and all kinds of knick knacks. The brilliant saturated colors were irresistible.
