Welcome to my +365 photo-blog/photo journal.

Despite the name of the blog, it is not a picture-a-day photo blog anymore. This photo blog originated in the Year 2012 as my photo-a-day run, which was successfully completed.  After a short break, I decided to continue with posting pictures albeit without the pressure of posting pictures everyday.

Living in the midwest has shaped how I approach the landscape.  We do not have oceans or mountains, but the land, vast sky, and rich prairie offer a lot to keep me interested in photography.  Most of the pictures are from Iowa.  Some are from my occasional travels.

Please drop me a line if you like, or dislike, anything here.  It is always good to get viewer feedback.

Thank you.

June 2017.

  1. I’m stumblin’ and droppin’……I am curious how your journey will evolve and how your composition will improve. It’s all about what you see with your eyes first then putting the camera up and shooting. What helps me is to look through what you are seeing and allow your eye to see all the layers. Like taking your eyes out of focus for those magic eye drawings.
I just finished a 2011 – 365 project. Some of these images were taken as I was actually looking away from the camera in a moving car. NOt framing anything just experimenting with blind shooting.
If you want to visit….. http://capturing1light.wordpress.com/
I’m off to go visit your first 79days

    1. Thank you, Ninali. Those are very kind words. I will look at it.

Congratulations on your award. I like your pictures. They have a very personal point of view. 🙂

  2. Thank you for visiting my blog “Eyes to Heart” and liking my post “Tranquility …” I appreciate the feedback. … Have fun with your compositions! … Be well, Dorothy 🙂

  3. Thank you for the like. I’ve enjoyed looking through your photos. I really like the AllergyVille one for some reason. It’s so detailed that I can see how it might make an allergy sufferer’s nose start to itch.

    1. Thanks Sheila. Even I was surprised by the detail that iPhone could capture. However, it was processed in Snapseed which does a wonderful job on iPhone pictures.

  4. I will look forward to your daily photo…
thanks for paying me a visit, and giving me the chance to return the favour 😉

  5. Thanks for the “like” on one of my posts. This is a great time we live in to expand on our interests and promote to make a difference in the world.

    1. Wow! That is an honor to be nominated by another great blogger. Thank you very much. I really appreciate your comments on my photographs. Like many diehard fans of yours, I also enjoy your poetry. Thank you! Thank You!! 🙂

      1. Well deserved Mr.Singh 🙂 You are welcome. You will have to visit the link and follow the rules for the award. Hey I enjoy your pictures too and ask you whacky questions!!

PS- lol no die hard fans only friendly fellow bloggers 😉

    1. Thank you very much, Carol. It is an honor to be recognized by our peers. I too like your photography website gallery pictures. The reason I would hesitate to do what is involved in the awards is that I have already had tough time finding something to say about myself. 🙂 But I am really thankful for your nomination. Hope I can keep up with expectations.

  6. Hi singhmv,
Is the “Like” button new? If not, I’ll feel pretty stupid because I only just discovered it tonight.
Oh well, so much for having a good eye 🙂
At least from now on, I’ll be able to let you know how much I enjoy your images.

      1. P.S.S. Just now, as I went back over your photographs since April, I see that I have in fact liked and commented on your previous work. So I don’t feel stupid anymore, just brain dead 🙂

  7. Dear MVS,
I have nominated you for three awards; Seeds of Light, Best Moment, and Versatile Blogger. If you choose to accept my nomination, (which I sincerely hope you do) you will find indications for the next steps in my (lengthy) post. Apparently, there is no time limitation on acceptance but for your reference, I will be removing my post in two weeks and make it a page filed under Uncategorized.

    1. Dear DN,
Thank you so much for your kindness to nominate me for not just one or two, but three awards. It is certainly an honor to be recognized by my peers. However, I cannot accept the nomination. Please do not take it as my ill will towards you or anyone. I enjoy visiting your blog and will be doing so in the future as well. I will also try to keep my postings worth your visits.
Thank you again and I hope that you keep enjoying the blog.
      Best regards,
